Lake City Area Arts (LCAA) is pleased to present the Lake City Singers in a fun Musical Mini Show at the Lake City Art Center at 220 E. Chestnut Street, where Chestnut and Franklin Streets intersect. The program is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome. The show is free of charge, but a free will offering would be greatly appreciated.
The program consists of a variety of musical selections performed by the entire group. There also will be solos by Sandy Walker, Jeanette Blethen, Lois Borner, and jazz pianist Dick Severson. Also a segment of the show is devoted to an audience sing-along intended for the enjoyment of all.
The Lake City Singers is the brainchild of Coleen Fowler who graciously organized these singers and musicians in April of 2018, and now tirelessly volunteers as the Director of the group. They meet every week at the Art Center on Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:15 pm. There are currently 12 members, but new singers and musicians are wanted and welcomed. No auditions are necessary—love and enjoyment of song and music are the only prerequisites. The purpose of the Lake City Singers is to experience the joy of music and to share that joy by performing for groups, organizations, and care centers wishing to have music at their functions.
Lake City Area Arts is a non-profit organization established in the summer of 2017 committed to the appreciation and enhancement of all forms of art in Lake City and the near surrounding area. Public and private support for LCAA and its mission has been truly astounding. While relatively new, LCAA is learning and leading to make Lake City a place to teach, learn, advance, and enjoy the cultural benefits that art brings to a community. Sincere thanks to all who have joined and participated in our programs. For more information, please visit the website at lcaa-home.org.
